"punk" shop on South street,
established in 1980.
- Zipperheads is now only
half the shop it once was. The other half is now a
record shop. The half that is left is now run by old
employees that own the place.
- Zipperheads on
Philadelphia's South street became an instant hit when
the Dead Milkmen's song "Punk Rock Girl" hit
MTV back when they played videos.
- What you will find?
- They still have a
wall of T-shirts. The original Zipperheads had more.
It was the opinion of many when Hot Topic first came
about that they "stole" the shop layout
from Zipperheads. The fare is now just about the
same as you would find at Hot Topic.
